It might feel like a cool spring but Laguna Beach is acting like summer has already been booming right along - the new events just keep piling in. Here are my favorite picks for your days ahead:
#1 This Friday, May 17th – Sunset Serenades
We just started our Sunset Serenades again at the Heisler Amphitheater and it's always a great live music event. The “housing establishments and City of Laguna Beach sponsor this annual event.
This coming Friday is Steve Wade; he’s an excellent, excellent Louisiana jazz musician. So, find your way to that big, giant whale statue at Heisler (above Rock Pile beach for those of you who are locals), bring your own food, bring a low chair if you're bringing a chair at all, or sit in the amphitheater itself.
The event starts at 6:30 PM and runs for about an hour, an hour-and-a-half tops.
#2 This Sunday, May 19th – Charm House Tour
Our annual Charm House Tour has been going on for years and years and years … since the 1970s! Each year, you get to explore historical, remarkable, amazing homes and properties, many of which served as the bedrock founding of our community.
This year, the entire tour is in Laguna Canyon, which as I've said before, has a history all of its own.
Now, the Charm House Tour runs on this Sunday only between 12:00 noon and 3:00 P.M. You board trolleys at the Festival of Arts Grounds, and they take you to and between the properties from there.
Get your ticket in advance because it's going to be a lot less expensive than any that may remain at the door on Sunday: Go to VillageLaguna.org and pick up that Charm House tour ticket.
Now, the organizers did send me a list of the places that they're visiting on Sunday, and … I'm not allowed to talk about any of those addresses or any of those places … BUT I do have to tell you that two of them were a big surprise to me. You're in for a treat.

#3 Thurs, May 23rd – Another great wine dinner at Oliver’s Osteria
Oliver Osteria’s very popular wine dinners are continuing with another one on Thursday, the 23rd - the “Veneto Wine Dinner” starting at 6:30 PM. Absolutely fabulous food from Chef Erik - he just pairs so beautifully with these gorgeous wines. I’m quite sure it’s going to be the usual stellar event.
Although you can check out the menu at their website, call in your reservation for these Wine Dinners at 949-715-0261.
